As a new mom, managing time can be challenging enough, let alone making time for beauty routines.
With all the new tasks and duties added to our daily routine from one side, and the sleepless nights on another side, new mothers find themselves lost in this new reality. To adjust to this new lifestyle, easier and quicker beauty routines should be adopted.
Finding the best alternative for those missed pampering moments was what I needed and doing them at home was one of the best choices.
Try to take time out 10 minutes for yourself and make a facial mask that will help your skin and boost your inner wellness.
Homemade masks are not only feasible for all budgets because they are made from ingredients available in every home, but also they are very nourishing. We under estimate those natural masks and go for the expensive brands, which on the other hand can be less efficient.
So next time you make your baby a banana avocado mix or an oatmeal, think about those left overs for your skin.
Here are my favorite three facial masks that I do at home and find very convenient and efficient:
1- Avocado mix mask:
Avocado helps reduce wrinkles while moisturizing the skin perfectly with its oils. Honey has again those same properties as avocados, in addition to being antibacterial. It can be used for acne treatment and prevention. Last, coconut oil has antibacterial properties and it is an excellent moisturizer.
– 1 very ripe avocado
– 3 tablespoons of honey
– 1 teaspoon of coconut oil
Blend the three ingredients and apply them to your face for 10-15 minutes. Always wipe your skin with a damp warm cloth before rinsing to avoid clogging the drains.
2- Banana mix mask:
Yogurt tightens pores and dissolves dead skin, in addition to reducing fine lines. Banana is a natural skin moisturizer. So mixing those two with honey will make your skin soft and glowing.
– 1 Banana
– ¼ cup of yogurt
– 2 tablespoons of honey
Rinse your face after 10 minutes.
3- Oatmeal mix mask:
This mask will give you a healthy glow. Oatmeal deep cleanses your pores while moisturizing your skin.
– 1/3 cup oatmeal
– ½ cup very hot water, not boiling
– 2 tablespoons plain yogurt
– 2 tablespoons honey
Soak the oatmeal in the hot water for 5 minutes. Add the yogurt and the honey and put them in a blender. Apply the mask on your face and leave it for 10-15 minutes. As soon as you rinse it off you will feel the difference. This mask can be used to sooth eczema and acne.
Will you try any of these DIY face masks? What beauty DIYs do you swear by?
