My Grandma’s Fresh Apple Cake Recipe

We love homemade cakes not only for their taste, but also for the fun time we spend together preparing them.



This cake is special to me because it reminds me of my childhood. The cake’s recipe is my grandma’s old fashioned fresh apple cake recipe.

This recipe serves around 14 pieces.





– 4 eggs
– 1 cup sugar
– 2 teaspoon baking powder
– 2 teaspoon cinnamon
– 2 cups flour
– 4 to 5 apples (cut into cubes)
– 1 teaspoon of vanilla
– ¾ cup oil
– ½ cup walnuts (optional)


Before starting the cake, put the apples in a cooking pot with one tablespoon of your already prepared cup of sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. Cook them on low fire for 15 minutes or until the apples soften.


Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C. Grease and flour your cake pan.


In a bowl, beat together the eggs and the vanilla for two minutes. Keep stirring while you add in the sugar and the oil.


Add in the flour, the rest of the cinnamon and the baking powder.


Finally add the cooked apples and mix them with a spoon.


Pour the batter into the cake pan. Bake for 45 min to 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.


Take it out of the oven and allow it to cool.
